With more than 75,000 visitors and over 500 exhibitors, Mary Jane Berlin 2026 celebrated its 10th anniversary, confirming its position as the largest cannabis event in the world.
For four days, from June 11 to 14 2026, Berlin became the meeting point of the global cannabis industry, bringing together companies, professionals, investors, operators and enthusiasts interested in understanding where the market is heading and what opportunities are emerging across Europe and beyond. For the CannabisJobs team, it was an intense and inspiring week filled with meetings, new connections, conversations with companies, and direct engagement with professionals and candidates from all over the world.

An evolving industry in search of talent
One of the clearest messages that emerged during Mary Jane Berlin was related to the job market. More and more companies are investing in the growth of their operations and, consequently, in building strong and highly skilled teams.
Whether in professional cultivation, production, post-harvest, quality assurance, compliance, sales, marketing, operations or management, finding and hiring the right professionals has become one of the main challenges facing cannabis businesses today. Over the past few years, we have also witnessed a significant shift in the quality of professionals available within the European market.
While companies once looked primarily to North America for specialized expertise, European talent is now gaining increasing recognition and value.
This is particularly evident in areas such as professional cultivation, post-harvest operations, quality management and GACP and EU-GMP environments. More and more European professionals are taking on key positions within regulated facilities and bringing increasingly advanced technical, operational and managerial skills to the industry. For many companies, it is no longer necessary to search exclusively outside Europe. Today, the European market offers a new generation of growers, cultivation managers, quality specialists, operations managers and pharmaceutical industry professionals capable of working to the highest standards.

Our booth: where companies and professionals connect
Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to meet companies that are actively hiring, professionals looking for new opportunities, and individuals interested in building a career in the cannabis sector. CannabisJobs booth became a meeting point between employers and candidates, as well as a space for discussing the skills companies are looking for and the challenges many organizations face when trying to find qualified professionals.
Today’s cannabis industry offers opportunities that go far beyond cultivation.
Companies are actively recruiting for roles in:
- Sales and Business Development
- Marketing and Communications
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Operations and Project Management
- Customer Service
- Supply Chain and Logistics
- Production and Post-Harvest
- Human Resources
- Executive and Leadership Positions

As a recruitment agency specialized in the cannabis industry, our mission is to help companies identify and hire the right talent while supporting professionals in finding opportunities that align with their skills and career goals. Participating in events like Mary Jane allows us to stay connected with the market, better understand the needs of employers and build relationships with professionals who may become part of the industry’s future.

Career Lounge: people, skills and opportunities
We were proud to collaborate with the Mary Jane team in creating the Career Lounge, a dedicated space designed to connect companies and professionals.
Within the area, companies could post job openings, while candidates had the opportunity to showcase themselves through job-seeking announcements. The space also featured informal networking areas where visitors could meet, exchange ideas and build new professional connections.
The Career Lounge also hosted our talks focused on careers, recruitment and professional development within the cannabis industry, becoming one of the highlights of our participation at Mary Jane Berlin 2026.
To our knowledge, this was one of the first initiatives of its kind ever introduced at a major cannabis trade show. For the first time, careers, recruitment and talent development were given a dedicated space within one of the largest cannabis events in the world.
The level of interest generated by the Career Lounge exceeded expectations. Throughout the event, we saw companies posting job opportunities, professionals exploring career paths, and visitors actively participating in discussions about employment, skills and professional growth within the industry.
In our view, this interest reflects the growing maturity of the cannabis market. When an industry begins to focus not only on products, genetics and business opportunities, but also on talent acquisition, workforce development, education and long-term career growth, it signals a new stage of evolution. People are becoming increasingly central to business strategy, and the attention given to recruitment, training and talent development during Mary Jane 2026 was a clear indication of where the industry is heading.

People are the industry’s most valuable asset
One of the key themes discussed during our sessions was the importance of people.
In an industry that often focuses on innovation, genetics, technology and investment, it is easy to forget that people remain the driving force behind every successful business. The strongest companies are not built solely on infrastructure or capital, but on capable, motivated and well-trained teams.
During the Career Lounge, we discussed how companies can attract, develop and retain top talent in an increasingly competitive market.
For businesses looking to grow, hiring in the cannabis industry today means building teams that understand the market, can adapt quickly and possess the skills needed to support long-term success.
How to find a job in the cannabis industry
Another important topic was how professionals can successfully enter the cannabis sector.
We discussed how to search for opportunities, present professional experience effectively and identify the skills that employers value most. Many people believe they need to start from scratch to work in cannabis. In reality, many already possess highly transferable skills that companies are actively seeking.

How to transfer your skills into the cannabis industry
A sales professional, marketer, project manager, logistics specialist, HR professional or quality expert can often bring valuable experience directly into a cannabis business.
The goal is not to abandon your previous background but to understand how your existing expertise can be applied within the industry. Entering the cannabis sector often means combining your professional experience with industry-specific knowledge and demonstrating how your skills can contribute to business growth.
This message resonated strongly with attendees, many of whom were surprised by the wide variety of opportunities available beyond cultivation.
High Secret Cup: celebrating excellence and cannabis culture
During the Mary Jane week, we were also proud to participate as sponsors of the High Secret Cup.
The High Secret Cup brought together some of the world’s most respected cultivators and hash makers, creating a space dedicated to quality, innovation, craftsmanship and cannabis culture. More than just a competition, it provided an opportunity for professionals with exceptional levels of expertise to connect, exchange ideas and showcase their work.
During the event, expert judges evaluated entries across several categories, recognizing excellence in cultivation, extraction and product quality. From premium flowers to solventless extracts, the competition highlighted the remarkable level of skill, dedication and attention to detail present within today’s cannabis industry.
Events like the High Secret Cup help celebrate and reward the work of growers and hash makers who continue to push standards higher, while creating a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and professional recognition.

Germany, legalization and new career opportunities
It is impossible to talk about Mary Jane Berlin without considering the historic moment Germany is experiencing. Legalization has generated significant momentum, encouraging new projects, associations, businesses and professional opportunities throughout the country.
The industry’s growth is creating demand for a wide range of professional skills and expertise. As companies expand and operations become increasingly structured, the need for qualified professionals continues to rise across areas such as quality assurance, compliance, operations, administration, sales, marketing, education, management and business development.
For companies, attracting and retaining the right talent is becoming a strategic priority. For professionals, this evolution is opening the door to new career opportunities within a sector that is becoming more stable, regulated and internationally connected.
