There’s a simple question we’ve kept asking professionals we meet at major cannabis industry events over the years: “Do you love your job?” Three words that may sound light, but carry a powerful meaning. Because, unfortunately, not everyone can confidently answer yes.

At CannabisJobs, we believe that when work is born from genuine passion, it has the power to become a collective force. Our way of showing this has been to give voice to the people driving the industry forward—interviewing them and listening to their stories. It happened at Spannabis in Barcelona and at Mary Jane Berlin, where we showed up with our camera, a now-iconic T-shirt that reads “I ❤️ my j🥦b,” and a strong desire to share what often goes unseen: the behind-the-scenes enthusiasm, the pride, the energy that keeps this world going.

The cannabis industry’s answer is a resounding yes.

The answers to our question came from professionals and pioneers across the cannabis world: cultivators, activists, breeders, chefs… Some of the names are internationally recognized—like Mila The Hash Queen, The Dank Duchess, Alice Reis, Javi from Medical Seeds, and companies such as TerpHogz, Gas Town, Puffco, and Strain Hunters. And yet, despite the fame or success, what unites them is always the same look in their eyes: the look of someone who has chosen a difficult path and walks it with passion. Because the passion that drives them is stronger than the everyday challenges.

As the philosopher Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” And it truly is that way.

For many of us, cannabis is not just a profession, it’s a mission, a vision, a life choice. It’s not just about the plant, but everything it represents: healing, freedom, justice, awareness. Among those we interviewed are doctors, lawyers, activists, producers, artists, and entrepreneurs… each with their own story, each with their own “why.” And all united by the same love!

The cannabis industry is different.

It is different because many enter the cannabis industry by personal choice, conviction, or life experience. It is not a career one pursues by chance. Behind every professional we have met, there is a deep motivation: the desire to change things, offer alternative solutions, and build a new paradigm. And perhaps that is why, despite the daily challenges of bureaucracy, regulatory constraints, and prejudice, there is a rare, almost familial unity.

Are these challenges what unite us? Perhaps. But it’s also the fact that ours is not just a commercial sector: it’s a culture, a community. It’s cannabis culture. A world that, in many countries, has transitioned from traditional and underground markets to regulated and professional models.

A world that, in some places, continues to live under scrutiny, fighting every day for recognition and dignity. Yet, despite everything, we remain. And we resist. Because this work, for many of us, is not just a job. It’s a life choice.

Our philosophy stems from this very idea. CannabisJobs is not just an agency that connecting companies and candidates. It’s a project built around a vision: putting people at the center and valuing those who work with passion and professionalism.

This blog is an invitation. To look inside ourselves. To ask if we are truly doing what we love. Because perhaps, among the many definitions of success, the truest one is this: waking up every morning knowing that what you do makes sense.

So, we ask you too: Do you love your job?
