Puro is New Zealand’s largest grower of medical cannabis and one of the world’s few accredited large-scale organic growers.

The company has two cannabis cultivation sites: its outdoor plants are grown at the Kēkerengū farm on the Kaikōura Coast, while its indoor plants are grown in a purpose-built research and breeding facility at Waihopai, Marlborough.

If you’re seeking a short-term work experience (approximately one month during the trimming or harvesting season) in a unique environment like Puro, you can apply with a “Work and Holiday Visa.”

For the upcoming season (starting in March 2026), they plan to hire around 90 grower assistants for harvest and post-harvest tasks.

Minimum requirements

• Hold a valid permit to work in NZ (Work Visa or Work and Holiday Visa) *Check with your local embassy or the official New Zealand immigration website to see if your country is part of the Work and Holiday program and to verify specific requirements.
• English B1
• Be a dynamic person accustomed to physical work
• Positive attitude
• Experience or knowledge of cannabis plant is considered a plus

Please note that the company does not provide accommodation. The payment of salary is made every two weeks.
